Your plans, kept with care.

• Account details: your name, email address, password (stored securely, never readable by us), and sign-in details if you use a provider like Google. Guests can join without an email.
• Profile details: optional information such as a profile photo, headline, bio, home base, favorite places and other traveler details you choose to add.
• Trip details: destinations, dates and availability, votes, budgets, itineraries, activities, places and map locations, travel and arrival details, accommodations, packing lists and safety information you add.
• Expenses: expense amounts, categories, who paid and who shares a cost, repayments, and receipt photos.
• Messages and photos: discussion threads, comments, tags, and photos you upload to trips.
• Beta requests and support: your email if you request an invitation, and anything you send when you contact us.

When you plan a trip, you may share information about other people — for example, inviting friends by name or email, tagging them, or splitting an expense with them. We use this only to run the trip: sending invitations and reminders, linking invitations to the right account, and showing the trip to its members.

If you’ve been invited and haven’t joined, we keep only what the person who invited you entered. You can ask us to remove it at hello@plot-travel.com. Please only share information about others that they would reasonably expect to be used for planning the trip together.

When you use the Service, we and our service providers automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and timestamps, along with error logs. We use browser storage (similar to cookies) to keep you signed in and remember things like your selected trip. We don’t use advertising cookies.

• to provide the Service: create accounts, run huddles and trips, show shared plans to crew members, calculate splits, budgets and travel estimates, and display maps;
• to send messages related to the Service, such as invitations, reminders, account confirmations and important updates;
• to keep the Service safe, prevent abuse, and fix problems;
• to understand how the Service is used and improve it;
• to comply with legal obligations.

• Trip content (availability, ideas, itineraries, comments, photos, expenses and receipts) is visible to the members of that trip.
• Your personal budget is visible only to you.
• Your profile name and photo are visible to people you share a trip with; other profile details you add can be viewed by your crewmates.
• Invitation previews (a postcard image with the trip name) can be seen by anyone who has the invite link.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising. We share information only:

• with other members of the trips you join, as described above;
• with service providers who help us run the Service — for example, hosting and database providers, email delivery, map and location services, and sign-in providers — who may use it only to provide those services to us;
• when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, the public or Plot Travel;
• as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information;
• with your permission.

We keep your information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Shared trip content may stay visible to your crew after you leave a trip. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we need to keep it for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons.

• You can view and update your profile and account email from your Profile page.
• You can ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@plot-travel.com.
• You can opt out of non-essential emails by following the instructions in the email or contacting us.

Depending on where you live (for example, California or the European Economic Area), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to object to or restrict certain processing, and not to be treated differently for using your rights. We will respond to requests as required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls that limit trip content to its members and private storage for photos and receipts. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your sign-in details private.

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We are based in the United States, and your information may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this policy as the Service changes. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and let you know through the Service or by email.
