The rules of the plot.

Plot Travel is a group trip-planning tool. It helps you and the people you invite choose dates, destinations and budgets; build shared itineraries; discuss plans; track and split expenses; and keep photos and memories from your trips.

Plot Travel is a planning tool only. We are not a travel agency, tour operator, booking service, payment processor or financial advisor. We don’t book, sell or guarantee any flights, stays, activities or other travel services, and we aren’t responsible for third-party providers you choose to use. Travel times, distances, maps and cost estimates are approximate and provided for convenience.

The Service is currently in an invitation-only beta. Features may change, be limited, break, or be removed, and data may occasionally be lost. We may grant, limit or end beta access at our discretion. Please keep your own copies of anything important, such as booking confirmations and receipts.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use it only with a parent or guardian’s permission.
• You may join a trip as a guest without an email address. Guest access is tied to your device and may be lost if you clear your browser or switch devices; adding an email saves your spot.
• You’re responsible for the information you provide being accurate, for keeping your password secure, and for activity that happens under your account.
• Let us know at hello@plot-travel.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
• You may stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account.

Trips are shared spaces. Information you add to a trip — such as availability, ideas, itinerary items, comments, photos, expenses and receipts — is visible to the other members of that trip. Your personal budget is private to you.

You keep ownership of the content you add. You give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and process it only as needed to run, secure and improve the Service and show it to the people you share it with.

If you add information about other people (for example, inviting friends by name or email, or adding them to an expense), you confirm you have a reasonable basis to share it for trip-planning purposes.

Expense tracking, splits, balances and payment links are tools for your own record-keeping. Plot Travel does not hold, transfer or guarantee money between travelers, and a payment link opening another app is not confirmation that a payment was made. Any amounts owed are between you and your fellow travelers.

The Service is currently free during the beta. In the future we may introduce paid plans or features. If we do, we will tell you the price, billing period, renewal and cancellation terms before you are charged, and you will not be charged without agreeing. Paid features will be subject to these Terms and any additional terms shown at purchase. Unless required by law or stated at purchase, fees already paid will not be refunded.

Please be a good co-plotter. You agree not to:

• break any law or violate anyone else’s rights, including privacy and intellectual property rights;
• post content that is harassing, hateful, threatening, sexually explicit, or otherwise harmful;
• impersonate someone, or join or claim a trip or invitation that wasn’t meant for you;
• upload malware, or try to access accounts, trips or data that aren’t yours;
• scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service or its security;
• use the Service to send spam or unsolicited messages;
• resell or commercially exploit the Service without our permission.

We may remove content or suspend or end access that we reasonably believe breaks these Terms.

The Service relies on and links to third-party services, such as maps and sign-in providers, and websites you choose to link. Their own terms and policies apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for them.

The Service, including the Plot Travel name, logo, design and software, belongs to us and our licensors. These Terms don’t give you any rights to it except the right to use the Service as described here. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without obligation to you.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any information in it (including maps, travel estimates and costs) is accurate or complete.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plot Travel and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, travel costs, missed bookings or plans, or disputes between travelers, arising from or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims arising from your content, your misuse of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service or the beta. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers and limitation of liability) will survive.

We may update these Terms as the Service grows. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and let you know through the Service or by email. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
